Improve network data using GIS

New telecommunication networks are being created at a rate never seen in our lifetime. There is a rush to get things built and new clients online to generate revenue. This fast - paced world is pushing for new technology to be adopted while causing pinch points in some areas and over-building in others. The cost difference of installing a 48-strand cable verse a 96-strand cable is nominal, so many companies put in more than needed in order to generate revenue from the dark fiber.

Throw away the road map - learn to change lanes

We constantly get asked for our product roadmap - which we are glad to share, but in a lot of cases the expectations of what the roadmap will show are not in line with the way we use the roadmap internally. Many people are expecting to see a project plan that lays out the details of new functionality along with our timeline for each delivery. Our product roadmap looks much different. Of course, we have an internal development schedule that defines the functionality we are adding and time frames for each release, but that is much different than our product roadmap.

Is your data yours?

Data ownership is a concern of most SAAS cloud customers and is made even more complicated if multiple entities are involved. If a customer transfers their data to a SAAS provider who then outsources its infrastructure to another storage or process provider, who is responsible if the customer’s information is unavailable, lost or corrupted? As with most legal concerns we can reduce our initial anxiety by looking closely at the positions stated in the relevant terms in our agreements and contract documents so let’s take a look at a typical scenario.

Adapt or die - how to win before your competitor knows you're playing

What speeds do you offer? That's the question telecoms are being asked daily. These speed demands are quickly increasing from 1- 5MB/s to 50MB/s, 100M B/s, and in many areas 1G B/s. Companies who aren't advancing their networks to provide faster services are quickly being out maneuvered in their own markets. Competition is increasing and telecoms are felling the pressure from wireless internet service providers and other telecom companies who can provide better services at faster speeds, and sometimes even lower prices.
